The Pantheon of Kria
Deities (and Maybe Demigods)

Kria has a pantheon of powerful and watchful deities. Each has one or more spheres of influence. They shape the world and sometimes use their power to meddle in affairs across the realm.
Hopefully, myths and legends about them will eventually be included below as well. For now, brief descriptions will have to do.

Ardex, the Sage of Ages
Wisdom, Insight, History
Ardex appears as an elderly sage holding a magic feathered quill amid a flurry or trail of parchment upon which are scrawled insights, advice, moment-to-moment history, and secrets of the universe. He embodies the accumulation of knowledge and the wisdom of past generations, and is the patron of rulers and scholars who seek counsel and deeper understanding. He can see through time, and the Fatewalkers are his children.
The magical quill he carries can write in any language, draw any Gate, Glyph, Symbol, or Ward, and scribe any spell scroll. If Ardex is otherwise engaged, the quill continues writing on its own.

Azuphyr, the Sky Weaver
Sky, Weather, Birds
Azuphyr controls the winds and skies. He is often invisible, but when he wishes to be seen he appears as a semi-corporeal man with long, silvery hair wearing lightweight robes of finery that seem to give way to tatters and wispy, cloud-like tendrils.
Depending on his mood, he may appear surrounded by birds, mysterious fog, or even intense storms. He can take the shape of any flying creature at will. He is blessed and cursed by sailors almost as much as Thalara.

Celestia, Whisperer of the Stars
Stars, Prophecy, Dreams
This mysterious, cloaked figure is the sister of Lunera (the moon goddess) and is associated with the night sky, guiding those who seek knowledge in dreams and stars.
Each night she walks across the sky, moving through the dreams of all who inhabit the realm. Some say the stars are jewels of her gown. Others say the stars are the Children of Prophecy—heroes and demigods who were touched by her fateful gifts over the ages and now follow her across the heavens.

Eldorin, the Flameheart
Fire, Passion, Smithing
Wiry, focused, and completely immune to flames, Eldorin embodies the spirit of fire and the art of forging. His passion fills the hearts of lovers, betrothed, and families as much as it drives dedicated artisans. He is the patron of as many bards as blacksmiths.
He designs and crafts weapons for the gods, as well as the occasional gift bestowed upon mortals.

Faela, Guardian of the Wild
Forests, Animals, Protection
Faela is the majestic protector of all natural and untamed places. His unique form is the source from which many plants and animals were created across the Lands of Kria.
He is the god of the faerie races and the patron of many druids.
He can assume any animal or plant form, and can speak with all natural things of the world. No natural creature will attack him.

Gaiana, the Earth Mother
Earth, Harvest, Fertility
Gaiana is often depicted as a nurturing figure covered in greenery, blessing the land with bountiful harvests.
She is worshipped by countless farmers, mothers, and midwives. Without her gifts, the people of the realm would starve.
Although she is generally non-combative, she has the strength of all seasons at her whim, as well as the catastrophic powers of floods, earthquakes, and volcanos.

Ionarq, the Enigma
Magic, Knowledge, Discovery
Ionarq is pure sentient magic. It is the deity of arcane knowledge and the embodiment of inspiration. It is the power behind all arcane magic and is a contributing force to most other forms of magic in the realm.
Often perceived as an aura of swirling magical energies, Ionarq will sometimes appear as the outline of a humanoid from head to torso.

Lunera, the Silver Veil
Moon, Mysteries, Illusion
Enigmatic and serene, Lunera is the sister of Celestia (goddess of the stars). She appears with a radiant silver aura and gossamer robes that shimmer with moonlight.
Although she commands powerful magics, she prefers to use illusion over other arcane forms. There are no known records or depictions of her using conventional armor, weapons, or shields.
She rarely descends from the heavens to set foot upon Kria. When she does, the realm experiences a moonless night.

Nekros, the Deathkeeper
Death, Underworld, Afterlife
Nekros is depicted as a skeletal figure draped in dark tattered robes. He rarely wears a hood or cowl, and it is said that those who look upon his frightening visage will instantly be slain.
He governs the passage of souls to the afterlife and maintains the balance between life and death, ensuring that the deceased find their rightful place in the underworld.
In his right hand, he bears the Staff of Souls, a mighty relic formed from an ancient root and topped with the cursed and tormented souls he has reaped.

Nyxara, Weaver of Shadows
Darkness, Secrets, Subterfuge
Cloaked and hooded, Nyxara thrives in the shadows, governing over secrets and hidden truths. Little is known of her motivations, yet her influence can be found almost everywhere.
To some, everything is a Nyxara plot, except when it isn't.

Seraphel, the Lightbringer
Sun, Healing, Renewal
Seraphel is a radiant figure who creates daytime by flying across the sky on the back of his gold dragon. He is the sun that brings light, warmth, and rejuvenation to the land and its people.
He wields the Sun Staff, a unique divine relic that amplifies his radiance and helps him light the world. Its healing powers are said to be without limit, and it obliterates undead.
His mount, Solaxignaar, is an ancient celestial gold dragon born during the primordial era that predates formation of the realm.

Taranis, the Thunder King
Thunder, Battle, Courage; Domains: Strength, War
Appearing as a formidable warrior clad in intricate armor with a thunderbolt greatsword, Taranis has a commanding presence and a keen mind. He embodies the art of warfare, from strategic planning and tactics to the consequences of conflict on societies.
He is the patron of heroes and those who face adversity with bravery. His followers seek his guidance in both the planning and execution of military campaigns.

Thalara, Mistress of the Deep
Oceans, Sea Creatures, Exploration
Thalara appears with the upper half of a beautiful woman and the lower half of either a mermaid or water elemental. The seas and oceans are hers to command.
She carries a blue crystal staff and a swordfish rapier, and moves without impairment in any body of water.
Revered and feared for her tempestuous nature, she and Azuphyr are venerated by seafarers across the realm. It is said that merfolk are her children, many borne from trysts with sailors.

Valdor, the Iron Judge
Justice, Law, Order
Valdor is a stern deity who symbolizes unyielding justice. He perpetually weighs the scales of balance. His skin is metallic gray and is reputed to be harder than iron.
If a verdict of physical punishment needs to be served, he summons a massive, iron-bound gavel from a pocket dimension. When used against the unjust, it never misses.
